MBSH Welcomes Dr. Mitchell Wattles, Orthopedic Surgeon

We're pleased to welcome Mitchell R. Wattles, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, to our team of specialists. He specializes in primary and complex reconstructive hip and knee replacement surgeries, including high-volume, same-day discharge hip and knee replacement surgery; muscle sparing anterior hip replacement; posterior hip replacement; robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacements; as well as complex revision hip and knee replacement surgeries.

Dr. Wattles received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington in 2016. He completed a five-year residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center followed by an Adult Reconstruction Orthopedic Surgery fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson, Miss.

The MBSH Leadership Team visited vascular surgeon Ricardo Rao, MD, Friday, Dec. 15, on his last day in the Specialty Clinic, to thank him for 28 years of seeing patients in the clinic and his dedicated service to our community. They also wished Dr. Rao well in the future as he lightens his schedule before fully retiring.
