Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital EMS Academy Offering Spring 2024 EMT-Basics Training Course

The Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital EMS Academy will offer a spring 2024 EMT-Basics Training course beginning May 6. Applications must be received by April 19 and are available at Sullivan Fire Protection District Station 5.

“We’re excited to offer this EMT-basics training course for those who are interested in a career in health care, specifically pre-hospital emergency medicine,” said Aaron Turner, emergency services manager at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. “This course promises to provide exceptional hands-on training to effectively prepare you to work as an EMT - a field that’s currently in high demand.”

 EMT-Basics Training course information: 

  • WHEN: Mondays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m., starting Monday, May 6.   
  • WHERE: Sullivan Fire Protection District, Station 5, 1230 N. Church St. in Sullivan, Missouri 
  • COST: $1,650 per person (does NOT include textbooks, uniform or testing fees) 
  • REQUIREMENTS: Participants must be at least 18 years old and have either a diploma or General Educational Development to complete the licensing exam.

When Jill Taylor, 33, of Sullivan, Mo., discovered she was pregnant with her third baby in late 2022, she began her search for a new Ob/Gyn. She and her family had relocated to the area in 2021 from West Virginia, which is where she gave birth to her first two babies.
