Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital staff presented with Community Heroes recognition

New Testament Baptist Church, located in Sullivan, contacted area firefighters, EMT, police officers and health care workers to show love and appreciation for all they do. “The past few years our church has hosted a Community Heroes Sunday at our church. This year we wanted to do something different and make a special effort to go to them,” says Josh Wright, pastor of New Testament Baptist Church.

Pastor Wright shared that the congregation decided to show appreciation through sacrifice. “Our church family agreed to forego Valentine’s Day with our spouses so we could spend time with some of our community heroes. The heroes and their families sacrifice so much all the time. The least we can do is sacrifice one day for them,” says Pastor Wright. The Hospital was given a large "You Are Loved!" heart and each MBSH staff member was presented candy and a special Valentine’s Day card reminding them that they are loved.
